Partners In Birth

  • The Wrens Nest 251 Danforth Street Portland, ME, 04102 United States (map)

This two hour workshop is designed for birthing women and their partners. Class will begin with a short movement sequence followed by a review of the stages and physiology of labor. We will explore practical methods of support including yoga-based breathwork, movement, touch, and relaxation techniques that both you and your birth partner can use to support the challenges of each stage. The beauty of this workshop and these techniques is that they can be used in any type of birth setting: with or without medication, in the hospital or at home.

This class picks up where many talk-based birthing classes fall short: you will leave with practical tools that you can practice at home to help you cope with the physicality of the birth process. Partners in Birth can be taken as a standalone childbirth-ed class, a review for second-timers or as a supplement to more comprehensive childbirth courses.

PARTNERS IN BIRTH is taught by Jaclyn Gallo, owner of The Wrens Nest. Jaclyn has worked with birthing families since 2010 as a doula, childbirth educator, and prenatal yoga teacher and specializes in helping individuals prepare for birth. She is a mother of two young children.
